In the spirit of the upcoming holiday devoted to love, we decided to do some Valentine’s Day crafting at USCutter! It was extra special, because we had one of our co-workers, a seasoned craft expert, in town from our other location, so we were able to do some training with our Silhouette Cameo.
For our project we decided to do a Valentine’s Day garland. We found some colorful felt hearts at a local craft store and some gold cord, so we used that as the base of our project. We decided to use some glow in the dark heat transfer vinyl for an “XOXO” pattern that we would put on the hearts.
Using the Silhouette Software, we found a font that we liked, and created our X’s and O’s.
We were now ready to cut, so we loaded our vinyl into the Cameo.
Make sure to mirror your designs for all heat transfer vinyl applications before you cut!
After weeding and cutting our letters, we placed them on our hearts and laid them out on the heat press.
Since they were pretty small, we were able to press them at the same time.
After cutting slits into the felt hearts, we ran the gold cord through the hearts and we were done!
